Nusa Penida fees in 2026: island fee, attraction fees and the Bali levy
Your boat ticket does not cover local fees. In 2026 a day on Nusa Penida costs a foreign adult about IDR 125,000 in levies, plus the Bali tourist levy. Here is what to pay, where and how.
The team, Fast Boat MatePublished
Fast boat fares never include government fees. On a trip to Nusa Penida there are up to three: the Bali tourist levy, the Klungkung island fee and, since 2026, a fee at each listed attraction. None of them are paid to us, and none are part of your boat ticket.
Fees change. The amounts below were checked against the sources linked in October 2026. Check locally before you travel.
How much will I pay in total?
For a foreign adult doing a classic four-stop day on the west coast:
| Fee | Amount | How you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Bali tourist levy | IDR 150,000 (once per entry to Bali) | Online, before you arrive |
| Nusa Penida island fee | IDR 25,000 adult · IDR 15,000 child | Cashless: card or QR |
| Attraction fee | about IDR 25,000 per listed sight | At each site |
| Four listed sights | about IDR 100,000 | At each site |
| Island day total | about IDR 125,000 | plus the Bali levy |
Snorkelling adds a marine park fee of about IDR 100,000 per person on many trips.
What is the Bali tourist levy?
Every foreign visitor entering Bali pays IDR 150,000, adults and children alike, once per entry. Pay it online before you arrive at lovebali.baliprov.go.id by bank transfer, virtual account or QRIS. You get a voucher with a QR code that is scanned at the airport and seaports; airport counters also take payment.
- Holders of KITAS or KITAP and some other visas are exempt, but must apply in advance.
- Beware of lookalike websites. Use only the official address above.
- Sources disagree on whether you pay again when you come back from Lombok or the Gilis. Check the official site before you go.
The legal basis is Bali Provincial Regulation 6/2023, amended by Regulation 2/2025.
What is the Nusa Penida island fee?
Klungkung Regency charges foreign visitors a tourism-area fee for Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan: IDR 25,000 per adult and IDR 15,000 per child. Infants up to 3 are reported free. Domestic tourists and Bali ID holders are exempt.
Since August 2025 the fee is cashless only: card or QR. It is usually collected when you arrive at the harbour, or you can prepay online. One payment covers all three Nusa islands. Some tour packages include it, so ask your driver before you pay twice. (source)
Which attractions charge a fee?
Klungkung Regulation No. 4/2026 ("One Gate One Destination") adds about IDR 25,000 per listed attraction, on top of the island fee. The reported list:
- Kelingking Beach
- Angel's Billabong
- Broken Beach
- Crystal Bay
- Teletubbies Hill
- Molenteng (Thousand Islands viewpoint)
Reported start dates differ: 1 August, 12 August or 1 September 2026. A child rate of IDR 15,000 has also been reported. Pay at the gate of each site. (source)
What about the marine park fee?
Snorkelling and diving inside the Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area, including Manta Point and Crystal Bay, carries a marine park fee. The figure usually quoted is about IDR 100,000 per person, but it comes from tour listings rather than an official tariff, and many snorkel packages include it. On our own snorkel trip it is paid on the day, and we show it before you book.
Are there harbour fees?
We are not aware of any at Sanur or on Nusa Penida, but check locally. If you continue to the Gilis or Lombok, budget for cash harbour fees of about IDR 10,000 at Padang Bai, about IDR 20,000 on the Gilis and about IDR 10,000 at Bangsal. (source)
Do I need cash on Nusa Penida?
Yes, some. The island fee is cashless, but drivers, warungs, parking and some attraction gates still prefer cash. ATMs are few, mostly in Sampalan town, and they sometimes run out. Bring enough rupiah for the day from Bali.
What does a day on Nusa Penida really cost?
Two adults on a west-coast day with a car and driver might spend: return boats from Sanur, the island fee (IDR 50,000 for two), four attraction fees (about IDR 200,000 for two), a driver for the day and lunch. Our day trip plan walks through a realistic timetable.
